The removal of gang related tattoos by laser surgery can be exchanged for hours donated to a community service project or a cash donation to the Lose the Tattoos program.p
When you fill out the Lose the Tattoos Pledge on the next page requested that you would like to remove your tattoos and change the direction of your life and send it to us, we will refer your letter to a counselor in your area. The counselor will contact you to arrange a meeting. At this meeting, you will determine together to work on a community service project and begin steps to take the necessary action to change your life. Most candidates for tattoo removal are assigned 40-80 hours of community service depending on how many tattoos are to be removed. Half of the hours must be completed before laser surgery is started. At the completion of the service project your debt is paid.
Examples of community service are:
· Volunteering to work in a community center · Volunteering at your church · Working with kids to change their lives · Helping with folding and stamping of a mailing for an organization
Your counselor can also help you with other issues in your life. We know that changing the direction of one’s life is difficult. Removing the tattoos is just one part of the plan.
Ask us… we can help you or put you in touch with someone who can.
You are not alone in this new path that you have chosen!
